About Therapies
It is thought that up to 75% of disease may be caused, either directly or indirectly, by stress. So any method we can use to reduce our stress levels, may help to improve our general health.
Many ways have been tried in the battle to reduce those stress levels. In recent years we have witnessed a gradual return to more natural methods, hence the renewed popularity of “Holistic” or “Complementary” therapies.
In the past, these therapies were generally seen as luxury items, but today they are frequently viewed as an essential part of everyday living, to aid relaxation and reduce the stresses imposed by modern life.
Some G.P’s may now choose to refer a patient for a particular therapy. The link between stress and stress related diseases has been well documented, and now they recognise the benefits of receiving either a course of treatment or a regular therapy session.
Some stress related disease include: Insomnia, High Blood Pressure, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Headaches and Migraines to name just a few.
It is always advisable to consult your G.P prior to any
treatment if you are currently under investigation
for any medical conditions or if you think you
may be pregnant.
